Poodle Fun From Sami

There is no challenge to go along with this release. This release is a fifth Friday release which we don't have very often. Sami had a request before Christmas to design images for a lady using a poodle. The lady picked the images that she wanted, leaving the rest for Sami to sell in the Sami Stamp Store. Here is a thumb-nail view of all the cute designs in this set:

Now don't let the names throw you. The DT have used these images or most of them) and have shown just how versatile these images can be. They aren't just for Christmas!

I colored my image using Copic markers. I used C000, C00 and C1 to "color" my white poodle.  I colored her little bows a blue-green and added a tiny rhinestone to the center of the front bow. The papers are from Echo Park (The Fine and Dandy pad by Lori Whitlock.) The blue and pink card are from my scraps. The ribbon is also from my stash and doesn't have a manufacturer listed on the spool. The heart was cut using a Joy Crafts die, and the paper flowers are by Prima. The rhinestone on the flower and the tiny one on the dog are both from Recollections. Going with the Valentine/heart theme, I computer generated my sentiment.

Stop by Sami Stamps Blog and have a look at the lovely cards the DT have made -- don't miss all the different ways the DT used this set!

True Friend on Tuesday

Hello, and happy Tuesday!  It is once again time for me to share my Tuesday Morning Sketches card and this week's sketch. We are still sharing the DT's favorites from last year, and Kris has chosen her favorite.

Our sponsor this week is Deedee's Digis. DeeDee creates fun, sweet and inspirational images that fit the card maker as well as the scrapbooker. She is offering a $15 shopping voucher to her store. We also have a second prize again this week. Kris decided that since she picked her favorite sketch, she would also provide a little prize. Wasn't that super of her? And here is a photo of the yummy goodies she is offering:

Just like several of our sponsors, DeeDee offers both colored and b&w line art in her image sets, along with appropriate sentiments. These options are, in my opinion, a big bonus. If time permits, and one desires, the images can be colored in one's favorite medium. However, if time is short, the colored images work up quickly and beautifully.

I used the pre-colored image from the " True Friend" set. Starting with a white card base, I layered solid blue card and then blue dotty paper (both from my scrap bag which I am trying to use more often). I then cut my image into a square and matted it with the blue card. After placing the image to the front of the card, I added red ric-rac, paper flowers and gems. I then printed the sentiment that came with the set, cut it out and matted it with the blue card. I think it turned out beautifully, don't you?

Even if you don't join in our challenge this week (although we really would love for you to), you MUST drop by the Tuesday Morning blog and have a look at the beautiful cards the DT have created. We also have a couple of lovely cards to share that two of DeeDee's DT made for us -- all are definitely eye candy and inspirational!

Love Ewe

Happy Tuesday morning to everyone. Thank you for stopping by again. This week our sponsor is  Doodle Pantry!

Doodle Pantry takes pride in creating a diverse selection of doodling styles, from realistic to whimsical, and all of which are family and kid friendly illustrations. Many of their images are provided with pre-colored images along with black and white line drawings so you have the option to color the image yourself.

Our retro sketch was selected by Jessi, and here it is:

I have used one of the images from the Loving Critters set. As mentioned, this set provides pre-colored images and black and white line images, as well as several sentiments. I enjoy coloring, but I also enjoy having a wonderful and beautiful option when I'm short on time. This week, I have used a pre-colored image.

The card base is white. I then cut a layer of solid pink and then a layer of pink checked paper. After printing off the image, I cut the width I needed and then slipped the piece into a circle die so that only the bottom was under the die and the rest was on top of the die and wouldn't cut. For some contract and to break up all the pink, I used a piece of scrap brown card under the image. The buttons are from my stash, and the embossed flower is by Prima. I didn't use one of the sentiments that came with the set, but created my own.

Please stop by the Tuesday Morning blog this week and have a look at the other DT cards, and if you have time, join in this week's challenge.

Floral Brides

Did you know the month of December has become as popular a month for weddings as the month of June? I was a December bride (49 years ago), and the red, green and gold colors are beautiful wedding colors. Anyhoo, back on track here ---

Sami has created some lovely brides for you to add to your stash to use for some beautiful wedding cards (whatever month you may need them). She has called them Floral Brides, and here is the thumb nail for all of them:

To get a better and/or individua photo of each, you can go to the store HERE or visit the blog and see a sample of each that the DT have made.  I have used Single Lily Bride for this card. I colored the image with Copic markers and then applied a thin coat of Stickles Star Dust over the veil and on the bodice of the dress.

The base card is dark purple. I cut a piece of designer paper from DCWV's "Designer Pack" papers. I then used Spellbinder's Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight for the frame behind the image. I traced around the inside of the die to form the shape around the image and hand cut that. (The next size die was too small which is the reason I traced the inside for my image shape.)

I added a paper rosebud atop the lily image in the bride's hand for dimension.  (I actually have (or had) some paper lilies that I was going to use, but could not find them in my flowers. I may have used them up (boo) and need to order more.) I placed a strip of ribbon behind the image, cutting each side in fish tail, and I added a bouquet of purple and white and pink roses by Wild Orchid Crafts to the bottom corner. The sentiment is computer generated and cut with a Nellie Snellin die.

Retro Sketch Two - TMS

Hello friends, welcome back for another retro favorite sketch for Tuesday Morning Sketches. It has become our "tradition" to start a new year off by having the DT each pick a favorite sketch from the previous year to share. This week is my pick. I really like it and hope you do, too. We also have two sponsors this week. Returning sponsor Bugaboo is here with us, and I have provided a little prize, too.

Bugaboo is offering a shopping voucher for digital stamps.

My prize is shown below; two brand new Inky Impressions rubber stamps:

The past sketch I picked for all of you is:

And here is my card for you:

I have colored the Bugaboo image, "Kidz Girl and Cat" with Copic markers on X-Press brand card. I have cut it into an oval using the Spellbinder oval die and then layered that atop a decorative frame, also a die by Spellbinder. The card base is white 5" x 7" with a layer of green card (Close to My Heart) and patterned designer paper. The sentiment stamps are by Simons Says, and I do not know the manufacturer of the three flower shaped gems. The ribbon is by Offray.

Do go by the TMS blog and have a look at the wonder samples the DT have created this week. Then make and enter your own creation using our sketch for a chance to win one of the two prizes.

Everyday Miracle

Good Morning TMS friends!  Happy New Year and welcome to the first sketch challenge of the year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday time and are now ready to settle into a brand new year.  Just like we did last year, we'll be revisiting some favorite sketches from 2014..  To kick us off, we have Debbie's pick and she's also sponsoring us this week.

Generous Debbie will be giving a $10 shopping voucher to Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  Eeek!

Here's Debbie's favorite sketch...

Remember this one? It is a super sketch, and we hope to see lots of entries this coming week using it.

I started with a white card base. I then cut my two pieces of DP from one piece of 6 x 6 from the Radiant Collection pad by Authentique. The papers in this pad are double sided with a design on one side and the coordinating solid on the other other. I printed the sentiment, using one from Sweet n Sassy's "Everyday Miracles" stamp set. I then cut it into a circle using a Spellbinder die. To add more color and dimension, I cut a scalloped circle from a piece of blue (from the same paper pad) using the Spellbinder scalloped circle die. Last of all, I adhered three pink rhinestones to the upper right corner.

Do take a minute or two and stop by the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to have a look at all the lovely cards the DT have made this week. Then, use the sketch and make your own wonderful creation!
