TMS and Zap Pow

Good Morning TMS friends.  We hope you're doing well.  Thank you so much for joining us today and help us to welcome back previous sponsor Zap Pow.  Owners Lizzie and Cassandra have created a store of digital stamps that are cheeky, fun and quite whimsical images and are great to work with.

The prize is 3 digis of the winner's choice.
Here's the sketch we're working with:

Sometimes I feel as if I spend an awful lot of my time making apologies! Even when something isn't entirely my fault, the old Catholic guilt kicks in, and I feel the need to apologize (sigh)! Well, I'm at it again this week in that I have to apologize to Lizzie and Cassandra for not using a Zap Pow image for my DT card. My six years old printer decided to die this past week. The print head jammed tight. The Hubs was able to get it unstuck only to have it jam again when we tried to print again. The poor thing was absolutely worn out despite my having just put new ink cartridges in it :-(.

So we pulled out an extra that we had (that the Hubs uses occasionally with his computer) and gave printing another go. I guess I wasn't holding my mouth correctly or something because I could not get it to print without smearing ink all over my image. I couldn't very well color and use an image with ink smears all over it, now could I? In tears, I bit the bullet, wrote to Melissa (who stepped in and used the image I was going to use), and I pulled out an already printed/colored image from my stash to use with our wonderful sketch. My Image is called "Goodbye Summer" by Sami Stamps

My card base is white card. I rounded the four corners with my corner punch, then cut a piece of DP from K&Company about 3/4" smaller on all four sides. I also rounded the corners and then matted the DP with solid blue card. I cut a piece of orange DP and matted it with the blue card. Lastly, I used a Marianne Creatable die CR1203 to cut the background square from the blue card. I then cut my Sami Stamps image into a square. The apple is rustic metal and is adhered with foam dots for a slightly raised effect.

Stop by Tuesday Morning Sketches and take a look at the wonderful samples the DT have created for your inspiration and enjoy the cute little images from Zap Pow.

  3. Oh Jenee, I feel your printer pain! I just went through the same thing about a month ago! I have ink smear issues when coloring too, I started using Krylon Workable Fixatif on my printed digital images. Stops the ink from smearing. Your card is adorable. Fun back to school card!

  4. When my printer broke down.... I think Jessi heard me cry all the way in Canada! I love what you created - this little guy just looks like he's wishing for one more week of summer break. Great job.
