Not Winter

This week the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge is being sponsored by our own teammate, Debbie Foster. She is offering a super prize and has also "suggested" that the challenge have a theme of winter. Well, I really don't "do" winter well. It is my least favorite of the four seasons, so I've revolted! (Actually, I had already done my card before I learned of the winter theme, so I'm not really as revolutionary as I sound.)

Let me share the sketch and the prize with you before I continue:

My image this week is by Magnolia. The butterfly is printed onto Cryogen card and colored with Copic markers. This card is actually a little prettier in person as the photo has caused the pink to appear darker than it is. It actually matches the printed background quite nicely and really isn't as garish as it appears here.

We have been very fortunate this year in that the cold weather has been minimal here in Georgia. We did recently have a light dusting of snow, but not weeks and weeks of biting cold. I do feel for those people who live up north, but then many of them don't actually mind. Whether you decide to go with a winter theme (optional) or not, we would like you to join us in this week's challenge. Stop by the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog; we always enjoy the company.

Retro Week 3

This week our favorite sketch from last year was chosen by Melissa and created by Debbie.

Our sponsor this week is Jennifer Tomasic Sinsley, Close to My Heart Independent Demonstrator.  She is offering Assorted Edges (D size stamp set).

I have not used a CTMH stamp for my card, not because I don't like them, but because I have not purchased many non-digital stamps in quite a while. I used to be a CTMH Demonstrator a couple of decades ago, so I actually do like the company. I just use digital stamps now in my crafting rather than actual rubber or acrylic.

Do visit the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and see what the DT have done with this week's retro sketch. It is a versatile sketch that can be flipped side-to-side or up and down -- whichever way best fits your image or purpose.

Also, we are looking for a couple of new people to join the TMS design team. We are not putting out a full-fledged DT call as we only want to add one or two additional members to the team and Melissa does not have the time to go through a large number of applicants.  You will be required to create a card each week (by Sunday afternoon) using the weekly sketch. Sometimes you will get an image from our sponsor, but not always, in which case you can use any image you wish. You will also be required to post your card on a personal blog, and you will be asked to comment on weekly entries. So, if you think you might be interested in joining our team, please email me and I will pass your name on to Melissa.

Boy Wearing Party Hat

I am always running late on Tuesday morning. I work every Monday night, and I tell myself that I am going to pre-schedule my posts, only I never seem to quite make it. This week's sketch was picked my Moi. I actually had quite a number of favorite sketches from 2015, so I went with the one closest to my birthday. This one was created by our team member, Debbie Foster.

Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.

I have used Boy Wearing Party Hat as my image.

Stop by the Tuesday Morning Blog and have a look at the beautiful cards the other team members have made to inspire you, and then join in this week's challenge. We'd love to see what you do with our sketch.

Reflections of the Past #1

It has been the tradition of Tuesday Morning Sketches to ask each member of the design team to pick their favorite sketch from the previous year. Then we start the new year off with those favorite sketches before moving into brand new ones.  Jessi kicks this off with her pick of sketch #288, which just happened to be the first sketch of 2015 featured after the favorites.  This sketch is perfect for getting a head start on those Valentine cards.

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps who are always so very generous about sponsoring. The gift is seven images of your choice -- super prize, right? Bugaboo's images are whimsical and fun and fit EVERY occasion.

I used "Heart Monster" for my card. Isn't he just the cutest? I colored him with Copic markers. The card base is kept simple -- white card with a piece of sparkly striped card on top. The image was cut into a circle and layered onto a scalloped circle cut from red card. The sentiment heart is chip board (two layers) with pop-up dots between the layers and between the card. The smaller white and red hearts are also sparkly with glitter.

Use this sweet sketch and then join us in this week's challenge. Visit the Tuesday Morning Blog and see what the other DT have done this week with this sketch and the great Bugaboo images.
