Celebrate Love

Good Morning friends!  So happy that you've joined me for TMS first original sketch of 2017. Happy Valentine's Day to those of you that celebrate this holiday.

I hope you love this sketch. It worked well if you still have a few Valentine cards left to make but it also works quite well for an anniversary or wedding card.  If you really can't use hearts, it's just a shape, change it to one that suits your needs.

Here is our sketch:

Our sponsor this week is Pink & Main. Michelle is generously offering a $20 gift certificate to our lucky winner this week.

I decided to go a little "elegant" with my card this week. I also left the sentiment blank. As I mentioned above, this card can be used for Valentine, wedding, or anniversary. Since I already had my Valentine cards made, I've left my options open (smile). I have created a classic white-on-white card with a subtle bit of pink.

The card base is white. The embossed heart panel was created using a QuicKutz small hearts embossing folder. (I'm not sure QuicKutz is still in business, but I'm sure you can find heart embossing folders in other brands.) I used white organza ribbon, and I cut the center heart using Spellbinder's scalloped heart die. (The heart is the perfect place to put the appropriate sentiment. You can use a word stamp, word die cuts or word stickers.) The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, and the leaves are punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Please join us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

  2. This card is very elegant. I like that you left it open for a later need, but I would have never guessed that was your intention. I think it's lovely just as it is.
