To Dad With Love

It is time for another Sami Stamps release, and this one is just in time for Father's Day cards. Of course, the wonderful images are versatile enough to be used for male birthday cards, thinking of you cards, congratulation cards, etc. Our talented DT have used the images in the most creative manner, so do stop by the Sami Stamps blog and have a look.

Here is a look at all of the images that are now available in the shop:

I used the "Handsome Like Dad" image and colored it with Copic markers. The card base is white card layered with black card and then designer card from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad. In fact, all of the designer papers (from the blue to the background) are from the same pad. I used dies from Spellbinder for the various shapes on my card (oval, decorative oval, sentiment tag). I fussy cut my image and raised it with foam dots. Lastly, I added some black beads to the corners of the card, the top of the sentiment and the sides of the background decorative oval piece. I think the beads gave that added little something while still keeping the card masculine looking.

TMS #251

Good Morning TMS friends!  We do hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend.  I know I wish it was just one more day.  I really had a great weekend.

This week we are excited to be sponsored by Zap Pow Designs - a new digi shop owned by two really fun gals, Lizzie and Cassandra.  These designs are fun and a little cheeky. Unfortunately, my card doesn't use one of their little designs (I was away when the images were sent out), but I have used our wonderful sketch!

So let's get to it.  Here's our sketch:

My sweet little image is an Elizabeth Belle acrylic stamp. I stamped it with Tuxedo black ink onto X-Press It brand card and have colored it with Copic markers. My designer papers are from a little pad called "Reunion" by My Mind's Eye.

This is a great sketch -- very versatile -- and the DT have done their usual wonderful cards to inspire you. Do take a few minutes to check them out by visiting the TMS blog site. We'd also like to encourage you to join in our weekly challenges.

For the Love of Hats

Here is a look at all the fun new images in this release:

My Grandmother was born in 1899 and grew up during a time when women wore hats or bonnets. She was raised on a large farm, so most of her hats, until she was grown, were the simple bonnets. As an adult, though, she grew quite fond of hats, and was often teased that she would not leave the house, even to go to the out-house, without first donning her hat. While there are certain fashion trends which I am more than happy have disappeared, the wearing of hats is not one of them. Like my Grandmother, I love a beautiful hat (now admit it, have you not drooled over those lovely hats in Downton Abby?).

My Grandmother died in 1986, but Sami's new release brought back memories of a very special lady.

Now, please take a few minutes to go to our blog and have a look at the beautiful samples the other DT members have created. Let us know what you think of the images and our cards by posting a little feedback in the comments. Thanks!
