Good Morning TMS friends! Thank you for joining us for another sketch challenge. I am really thrilled that My Besties is sponsoring us this week. I'm sure that by now, everyone is famiiliar with Sheri Baldy's big eyed beauties.
This week's sketch is brought to you by Debbie and it's quite the versatile one!
My card uses "Sadie Wonderwoman" which has been colored with Copic markers. The image was actually created using a photograph of my girlfriend's granddaughter, Sadie, and I call it Sadie's new dress because that is what inspired the photo. Isn't it a beauty? Well, that's because the real little Miss Sadie is a beauty and a perfect model!
Because of the name of the image and the stars on the bodice of the dress, I did stick with patriotic colors; however, this image would look lovely in any color combination and would fit any occasion.
I continue to be woken most mornings by the sound of saws and hammers. The roof is 2/3's reshingled. While waiting for an inspector to come, they got started on the roof and worked both sides to the center where the room addition will tie in. Once the room is finished, the rest of the roof will be shingled. For those of you who don't know me personally and who may be curious, we are having a room of the house replaced. The room, which was here when we bought the house, was originally poorly and cheaply constructed. We've disliked the room ever since we moved in, and it has always been our intention to have it torn down and properly built. Fourteen years later, we are finally getting the project done! In the mean time, all the furniture and things that were in that room are stashed in the rest of the house. I feel a bit as if I'm living in a horder's house with the clutter, boxes, etc. stacked up all around me! I've been told that if the weather continues to cooperate, inspectors show up, materials arrive on time, etc. that the construction should be completed in about two more weeks - ARGGGG!
Take a few minutes to run over to the TMS blog and have a look at the other Bestie beauties the DT have used this week and then grab Debbie's wonderful sketch and join in our weekly challenge. As for me, well, I just can't be very creative with all the pounding and noise going on, so I think a little retail therapy just might be needed (grin)!!
aw, what a cutie, and your colors are perfect for her :) Hang in there - 2 more weeks should go by fast :) crossing fingers, heehee. That'll be nice to have it all done. About 2 or 3 years ago we finished remodeling our garage into a permanent living space - a big bedroom for our daughter. It took us about 1 1/2 years to complete it (doing all but the electrical ourselves). So glad to be done with it. Your house will feel much better when done. Meanwhile - add some fun to each day :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is just precious! Love the sweet image and the delightful scalloped edging!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the renos, they'll get done, one day at a time! :)
Love the patriotic feel of your card Jenee! Such a sweet image, wonderful coloring! It's not fun living through remodeling, but it will be worth it in the end! We live in an old farm house and it seems remodeling/repairs are never ending!
ReplyDeleteSo cute...love the story about Sadie...great colors too, nice and bright!
ReplyDeleteReally sweet card! She's a mini wonderwoman and too adorable. I'm sorry about the banging and hammering, but it's progress and in two short weeks you'll have a lovely room that you'll enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the disruption of renos, even the much-needed kind :) When hubby replaces our kitchen floor next week I'll be tearing my hair out for sure! Love this sweet little card :)
ReplyDeleteI loved that you picked this image, I've still not has a chance to cor mine! Your card will go in my Pinterest album once I get back on my computer!
