Holly Santa
This week we have another classic looking sketch that will be very fun and versatile to use. Here it is:
Tuesday Morning Sketches is sponsoring the prize, and here it is:
Is that not one super prize? I wouldn't mind having that set myself!
For my card this week, I have used a red card base and layered a piece of green with holly. This is from an old pad that I bought several years ago and only have about 2-3 pages left. Needless to say, the cover is missing, so I cannot tell you the manufacturer. The holly background goes with the holly in back of the Santa image.
I cut my Santa image and matted it with red and then green. I'm not sure I am overly pleased with the final mat (the red with white swirls). I may end up going back and replacing it with a dry embossed solid red but I'm "living with it" for a little while to see.
I wasn't quite sure what the line at the top 1/4 mark was supposed to be, so I added a piece of gold ribbon and a bow which I think turned out right nice looking. I topped the card off by adding a poinsettia flower with punched holly leaves tucked behind.
The DT have created a plethora of wonderful cards for various occasions showing just how versatile this sketch can be. Please take a minute to visit the blog and have a look at the beautiful work there. Then, of course, we would so like to see what you do with our sketch!
Happy Halloween to all who celebrate; otherwise, happy Tuesday (smile)!

Cute card! I don't use Santa on my cards, but I do like the Victorian ones!
ReplyDeleteI just love that vintage Santa image and how you framed it! I think the white swirls on red look very nice and perfectly frame the image! Great papers and a perfect little bow finished this card beautifully!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! The paper is pretty and the image is just beautiful. The rich gold ribbon is the perfect embellishment.
