Just a Note

Happy Tuesday and happy new sketch day.  It's easy; it's versatile; and it's by Jessi!  Your Next Stamp is in the house and we couldn't be more delighted!

The prize YNS is offering is a $10 gift certificate.
Here's the sketch:

I have flipped the sketch so that my image is facing "into" the middle of the card rather than off the paper, but otherwise, I've followed this wonderful sketch completely. My imge is called "Just to Say," and it can be found here.

I colored my image with Copic markers, and  I was able to use papers from my scrap bags to create this cute little note card. We hope you will join us in this week's challenge. Also, take a few minutes to visit the Tuesday Morning Blog and have a look at the wonderful cards the DT have made to inspire you.

Bitsy Bumblebee and a Birthday

Good Morning friends!  I hope you're ready for another fun week with a really fun sketch.  We have DRS Designs sponsoring us this week. So here's the sketch we're playing with:

My card features the images Bitsy Bumblebee and Bee-cause You're Special. I've colored my image with Copic markers. I've used a white 6 x 6" square base. The DP is from the Miss Carolina pad by My Mind's Eye called "Dolled Up." The black mat and die cuts (behind image) is from my stash.

I cut four corner pieces using Joy Crafts die 6002/0261 and adhered each piece to the DP so that  they formed a diamond shape. I then adhered my image to a piece of DP from another My Mind's Eye pad called Lost and Found. I cut 1/8" around border around both sides and the bottom and tore the top of the border (per the sketch) for added texture. In the four corners, I have added white glitter gems, and lastly I added a small flower which I made by scrunching three Prima paper flowers and gluing them to a fourth (unscrunched) flower. The leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch (luv that punch because the leaves seem to always be the "right" size for my flowers).

The DT have all done beautiful work using this versatile little sketch. You will not want to miss having a peek at what they've done. Go to our Tuesday Morning Sketches blog, look at the great samples, then join us in this week's challenge.

Today is my Mother's-in-law 89th birthday. We are so blessed that she is still with us. She is the last parent still alive. We will be seeing her on Saturday, but our thoughts are with her on this, her special day.

Vacation Special

Sami went on vacation and didn't get a new release done for this week, so she is offering a fantastic vacation special. The DT went through the shop and picked some images that didn't have samples made for them. Sami is offering those images for $2.00 each. That's not all, though. She is offering a 35% discount on all other images in the store. If you've been waiting to get some of Sami's beautiful images, wait no longer. This is one super-duper deal!

I've used "I Love the Rain" as my image this week. I've colored it with Copic markers except the umbrella which I paper pieced. I did use a Copic marker to shade the spine areas of the umbrella after piecing it. My card base is white with green card as matting and DP from My Mind's Eye. The flowers are a combination from Recollections and Wild Orchid Crafts. The dies are Magnolia Doo-hickey (leaves) and Spellbinders (doily).

I am headed out this morning for a weekend of camping. Weather has been absolutely beautiful -- until -- yuppers, this morning we have clouds and predicted rain. Mother Nature isn't playing nice! However, remember that Sami is playing quite nice with great discounts, so visit the blog and see which images the DT have used, then take advantage of the $2.00 specials.

Have a great weekend!

Miss Sadie's New Dress

Good Morning TMS friends!  Thank you for joining us for another sketch challenge.  I am really thrilled that My Besties is sponsoring us this week. I'm sure that by now, everyone is famiiliar with Sheri Baldy's big eyed beauties.

This week's sketch is brought to you by Debbie and it's quite the versatile one!

My card uses "Sadie Wonderwoman" which has been colored with Copic markers. The image was actually created using a photograph of my girlfriend's granddaughter, Sadie, and I call it Sadie's new dress because that is what inspired the photo. Isn't it a beauty? Well, that's because the real little Miss Sadie is a beauty and a perfect model!

Because of the name of the image and the stars on the bodice of the dress, I did stick with patriotic colors; however, this image would look lovely in any color combination and would fit any occasion.

I continue to be woken most mornings by the sound of saws and hammers. The roof is 2/3's reshingled. While waiting for an inspector to come, they got started on the roof and worked both sides to the center where the room addition will tie in. Once the room is finished, the rest of the roof will be shingled. For those of you who don't know me personally and who may be curious, we are having a room of the house replaced. The room, which was here when we bought the house, was originally poorly and cheaply constructed. We've disliked the room ever since we moved in, and it has always been our intention to have it torn down and properly built. Fourteen years later, we are finally getting the project done! In the mean time, all the furniture and things that were in that room are stashed in the rest of the house. I feel a bit as if I'm living in a horder's house with the clutter, boxes, etc. stacked up all around me! I've been told that if the weather continues to cooperate, inspectors show up, materials arrive on time, etc. that the construction should be completed in about two more weeks - ARGGGG!

Take a few minutes to run over to the TMS blog and have a look at the other Bestie beauties the DT have used this week and then grab Debbie's wonderful sketch and join in our weekly challenge. As for me, well, I just can't be very creative with all the pounding and noise going on, so I think a little retail therapy just might be needed (grin)!!

You're Appreciated

Good Morning TMS friends!  Happy Tuesday and it really is.  We have a new sketch for you this week and a wonderful sponsor.

We're sponsored by Patti Rowe, CTMH Independent Demonstrator.  Patti is also a very loyal player of TMS.  We're so happy that she's here.

Here is our sketch..

And yes!  It's Judged Challenge week, so the twist is a color combo...

Green, Blue, Black

My bad in that my card does not follow the color theme for our challenge. I am also missing some of the elements of our sketch. OK, I could give you this story about how the remodeling of the house has me living in clutter and chaos, so I'm completely befuddled and lucky to get my card done at all. I could give you the story of how my husband's garden is doing the best it has in years and we're having a hard time keeping up with freezing and canning the produce. I could tell you we went out of town for the 4th of July which threw me a day behind. All those things are true, but the fact of the matter is that I just didn't get my act together this week, so I was scurrying at the last minute and simply missed some of the details. Bad Jenée, bad girl!

OK, so much for the silly apology. On to my card. This week our sponsor is Patti Rowe who is a Close to my Heart demonstrator. Having been a CTMH demonstrator, myself, at one time, I really like the product, and I highly recommend the stamps, inks and papers (especially papers). Having said that, I have to confess that only the sentiment and ink on my card are from CTMH. (I told you I didn't have my head in the game this week!)

Once I created my white card base and layered it with the designer papers (Reunion by My Mind's Eye), I realized our sponsor was CTMH, so I pulled out a set of My Acrylic (CTMH copyrighted name) and picked the sentiment which I stamped using CTMH Tropical Blue ink. I then cut out the sentiment using Spellbinder Labels Fourteen die.

Do take a few minutes and hop over to the TMS blog to have a look at the wonderful cards my teamies have made using this sketch. They all did a wonderful and beautiful card. I know you will enjoy seeing them.

Ice Cream and Polka Dots

Sami released a new set of images yesterday (4th July). I didn't get my post up because I was off celebrating the American holiday with a cook out at the home of friends. We filled out tummies with traditional fare -- cole slaw, potatoe salad, watermelon, grilled pork, etc. It was a nice, quite day spent in good company.

Here is a look at all the new images:

Ice cream and summer go hand-in-hand, don't they? What can be more refreshing on a hot day than a yummy cone filled with favorite ice cream flavors?

This is also the first release of a new month which means that there is a new challenge at the Sami Stamps blog. This month Sami would like to see you use polka dots. (Have you ever wondered why they are called "polka" dots?)

I've used "Ice Cream Beauty" for my sample. I've colored it with Copic markers and then have used a combination of solid card and dotty decorative papers. I've used a white card as my base I've gone somewhat with a Neopolitan ice cream color theme of brown (chocolate), red (strawberry) and yellow (vanilla). I used a QuicKutz "nesting Doily Circles" die (DC0253) and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. The dotty papers are from my scrap stash, and the sentiment is an acrylic stamp.

I do hope you will stop by the blog and have a look at the other DT samples, and then, using one of Sami's images and dotty paper, you will enter the challenge for this month.
