Starting a New Year

Hello friends. It has been a few weeks since I've posted anything. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are ready for the new year to bring you lots of love, laughter and crafting time.

We, at Tuesday Morning Sketches, are continuing our tradition of revisiting some sketches from the previous year. The first one was selected by DT member, Carol and here is the one she picked:

Carol is also providing the prize for this week's challenge. It is a lovely embossing folder. Here it is:

If you visit Carol's blog or the TMS Blog, you will see Carol's sample using the same embossing plate (well, not the same as yours will be new, but one just like the prize offering).

Again, I have used some Heartfelt Creations papers to create my card for this week. I started with a green card base and layered it with a light peach from the Camellia Carnation Collection. On top of that, I have cut out one of the panels and adhered it in the middle of the peach panel. The image looks as if it is layered on several panels, but it is all one piece. I then cut the two fishtail pieces, first from the green and then from another piece from the collection. After layering them on top of each other, I added the pearls. Lastly, I added the sentiment by stamping it onto a piece left from the piece from which I used for the top  fishtails.

It was so quick, but makes for a very lovely card. I plan to send it this week to a dear friend who is getting ready to start radiation and chemotherapy.

I hope you can find a few minutes this coming week to create something lovely using our sketch and share it with us at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. We would love to see your work.

  3. Gorgeous card. I’m sure your friend is going to love it. I write to a couple of cancer patients. One started chemo and now I’m crocheting her love pink hat because she’s losing her hair. It’s good to send thoughts, it’s very encouraging.
