I have used one of the images from the Loving Critters set. As mentioned, this set provides pre-colored images and black and white line images, as well as several sentiments. I enjoy coloring, but I also enjoy having a wonderful and beautiful option when I'm short on time. This week, I have used a pre-colored image.

The card base is white. I then cut a layer of solid pink and then a layer of pink checked paper. After printing off the image, I cut the width I needed and then slipped the piece into a circle die so that only the bottom was under the die and the rest was on top of the die and wouldn't cut. For some contract and to break up all the pink, I used a piece of scrap brown card under the image. The buttons are from my stash, and the embossed flower is by Prima. I didn't use one of the sentiments that came with the set, but created my own.

Retro Sketch Two - TMS

Hello friends, welcome back for another retro favorite sketch for Tuesday Morning Sketches. It has become our "tradition" to start a new year off by having the DT each pick a favorite sketch from the previous year to share. This week is my pick. I really like it and hope you do, too. I have colored the Bugaboo image, "Kidz Girl and Cat" with Copic markers on X-Press brand card. I have cut it into an oval using the Spellbinder oval die and then layered that atop a decorative frame, also a die by Spellbinder. The card base is white 5" x 7" with a layer of green card (Close to My Heart) and patterned designer paper. The sentiment stamps are by Simons Says, and I do not know the manufacturer of the three flower shaped gems. The ribbon is by Offray.

Annual "Anything Goes"

Happy Tuesday before Christmas! This is our annual "anything goes" challenge (or as I like to think of it, our annual "do your own thing" challenge). Everyone, of course, is putting those last minute touches on their Christmas plans (or are on their way to Grandma's house), so crafting time is very limited. You may be aware that I've been absent from the DT line up for the last two weeks. If it were not for this "do your own thing" -- er, I mean "anything goes" -- then I wouldn't be here this week.

I've been seeing this particular card all over the place on various web-sites and posted on Pinterest. Well, not THIS card, but one similar using the circles for the snowman. I thought it was so cute that I wanted to give it a try, so the last play date my friend, Dottie, and I had for 2014, we made our own versions of this card.

My background is stamped with snowflake stamps using blue ink. Yep, you guessed it. I don't remember which stamp(s) I used. However, the ink is by Stampin Up (Almost Navy). The circles were cut using circle punches. They were all by EK Success, and I used three sizes that would give me the look that I wanted (in other words, they aren't particularly incremental in size). I lightly inked around the circles with Tim Holtz Antique Paper ink.

The black circles are also a punch, and the orange nose is free hand. The "arms" are from a Cheery Lynn tree limb die. The scarf is a bit of ribbon which has been folded and placed under the head. The head and the first layer of the body are adhered with pop-up foam dots for dimension. The words Merry and Christmas are cut with an Elizabeth Craft sentiment die which belongs to my girlfriend.
