This week our sponsor is All Dressed Up, and our sketch is:
I did not use one of our sponsor's images this week, but instead have used a Lily of the Valley image. The green card base is by Bazzill, and the pink is from an old Basic Gray set (Scattered Flowers and Sweet Pea). The doily is cut with a Spellbinder die. Instead of a flower on the fishtail strip, I have opted to use a rose with pearl center by Recollections. The leaves are punched.
I felt the Basic Gray paper, while pretty, was a little to plain which gave the card a bit of a washed out look, so I added the birthday sentiment in brown ink to the bottom for a little more pop. I think I would have preferred a "friends" sentiment or a "thinking of you" type sentiment, but I did not have a stamp reflecting either of those sentiments that would work in the space, so I went with what I had. Even though the image isn't quite birthday-ish, I think it will work by tying the inside verse to the image (have a swingingly happy birthday -- or something on that order).
Please stop by the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and have a look at the lovely cards the DT have made for your inspiration this week. We also have additional inspiration from some of the All Dressed Up designers. The prize for this week's challenge will be two digital images from All Dressed Up.
